The British Stallion Event

The big stallion parade for Competition Stallions was held at Hartpury Agricultural College on 3rd January. It is organised by The British Bred Sport Horse, under the wing of the British Equestrian Federation. There were 64 stallions entered, 29 in the Dressage section, 21 in the Eventing section and 14 in the Show Jumping section. Our stallions Persiflage and Dunlewey Red Kite attended in the Eventing section. The emphasis in the parade is performance and we are keen to emphasise our place in that sphere.

All the stallions in the parade have recorded pedigrees, of course, and are graded. There is a lot of overlapping of stud books in the Continental breeds these days: a stallion’s birth may be recorded in one stud book but he may be graded and used for breeding by another (or by several others).
