Sorbet is a 7 year old, 16h2 Anglo Arab gelding who is by our Pure bred Arab stallion Sisyrinchium who has sired many sport horses and out of a Thoroughbred mare called Fairies Farewell who was by Broadsword. Sorbet is a superb mover and is now based with the Irish event rider Melanie Young who is part of the U25 High Performance squad. In early April 2015 Sorbet and Melanie won the pre-novice at Monart Equestrian Centre’s unaffiliated event and in early May achieved a 2nd placing at the same venue. On May 10th they won their first affiliated EI100 at Annaharvey after leading from theart. Since then he has placed in the top 10 at every EI100 they have competed in including winning a further event at Killossery Lodge in June and coming 2nd at the National Championships at Ballindenisk in July. Sorbet then stepped up to Novice and placed 2nd at that level in the Tattersalls One Day Event in August. 2016 saw a slow start to the season for Melanie and Sorbet just placing 2nd once at Ballinamona before clinching a 5th place with a double clear at their first CCI* at Camphire in late July.
